Andrew Bate
Andrew Bate is a director, actor, composer and writer originally from Cornwall, now residing in Cheltenham, UK. Andrew founded independent theatre company Moth Sanctuary Productions after creating a physical theatre performance for the first ever Lit Crawl at Cheltenham Literature Festival in 2016. Since then he has written, directed and performed at the Lit Crawl each year with the standout production being a gender-swapped physical theatre adaptation of Frankenstein. In 2020, Andrew received a commission from the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham to develop the first full-length show for Moth Sanctuary Productions. Previously, Andrew has worked as a musical director and performer for Rogue Theatre, scored various short films, including the Virgin Media award nominated short 'RVG,' acted in several theatre and film pieces and written a novella. More recently during lockdown, Andrew created 'Penny Dreadfuls from the Moth Sanctuary' where he wrote, voiced and scored a series of original audiobooks.
